Opportunities are sometimes unique and that first impression is crucial to your success.
For a long time, I have had a lot of resistance to this subject. How is it possible that your knowledge of a subject has less impact than your appearance? And that the development of a meeting can determine the result of the objective above the knowledge and/or experience on the subject, project or sale under discussion.
The image is related to banality and/or superficiality, which is why it is difficult to understand the concept of its importance.
A few years ago I devoted myself to reading and learning about Emotional Intelligence a fascinating topic that should be implemented and since early childhood. But without going into detail, the subject opened a fascinating perspective on the knowledge and importance of our emotions, sensibilities and internal experiences and how we reflect them without realizing it.
Since then I have handled another approach, and I do acknowledge the importance of appearance and it plays a role beyond the clothing or brand you might wear. The importance is rather based on the energy that the contour produces in the person and in turn the reception of that energy in others. Under this concept, definitively it is very important for professional development to have better knowledge about the reflection of our image in others.
And as image specialist Monica Cuetara says:
Have you ever heard the expression “there is no second chance to make a good first impression”? The truth is that we are interacting with our environment all the time and expanding our circles whether social, labor, etc. In the previous posts, we have been talking about how our image is essential when realizing our dreams and for me, it is fundamental that you can take advantage of your potential to be successful in all areas of your life.
In order to have your ideal image, you must get an exhaustive study of your physique. At the same time, you should take the time you need in the emotional part; ask yourself what you want to convey and who you want to be. The message you convey to people with your image is first of all very emotional. Remember; if others believe it, and you too, there will no longer be room for doubt to be exactly what you want to be.
There is an English phrase that says so; “Fake it until you make it” I like to say, “Do not fake it, make it”. When you decide to become a doctor, lawyer, designer … you start preparing for it and you work hard to become that you dream to be. Exactly the same happens with your image, communicating consciously will allow you to reach all your goals.
Your image is the pillar of what you build in your present and the beginning of your future.
I Love when she suggests to “Do not fake it, make it”, definitely your connection between your body language, state of mind, knowledge, and reflection are aspects that you need to understand better about yourself if you want better results on your achievements!
