Today I show you Nahila Campos work. She is a Contemporary Artist her statement is “a square world” represented in cubes that carry an entire imaginary world. Her creations are motivated by the relation between the “internal and external world of men behavior “
Her art is represented in paintings, sculptures, installations, and performance.
On her latest series “The Mind” she exposes a final product of human being: the sewing machine as a result of the conscious mind that borrows from the unconscious, memories to fabricate an idea.
She uses objects and small items that she collects since she was a kid. Giving them a new opportunity with art in her inspiration.
In “The Mind is a Drawer” the inside or unconscious mind, is filled with tiny objects that represent a surreal world of “things” found on a drawer. You can see the objects have no relation, no proportions and placed even upside down…This inside cube is contained by the conscious mind in which she decides to leave windows to let light enter the subconscious and borrow elements for a new creation.
For me Nahila’s creativity is mesmerizing, her drawings and her precision handling miniature objects is her perfectionist talent.
On the other hand, the piece of Art itself, without knowing the Artists insight, is an intriguing eye-catching piece that serves as a very interesting collector piece.
